O Most Gracious Virgin Mary

4 Jan

Oftentimes on my way to work, I send up little ejaculations (the fancy name for a short prayer.)  The ejaculations sound something like this:

“Mary, please help me at work today.  Give me charity, patience and wisdom.  Dear Lord, help me to serve you and love you.  Thank you for all your blessings.  Help me to be holy and prayerful.  Amen.”

While praying my night prayers tonight, I finished the Rosary with the Memorare.  It goes like this:

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,

implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;

to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.” (emphasis my own)

Mary is near the top on my “list of admirers”.  Mary is prayerful and open to God’s will.  She is a powerful intercessor for us before the throne of God.

Let us run to her with great confidence in our needs.  Afterall, she is in Heaven before the throne of God, interceding for us whenever we ask, “O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and anwer me.  Amen.”

I pray that each of you have a very blessed day.  Drive safely – I heard that the roads are going to be icy and snowy this week.  Brrrr!
