Just When You Thought Life Couldn’t Be Busier: Finding Time To Pray

22 Dec

This evening after spending time with one of my girl friends watching a Christmas movie and painting our nails, I took some time to wrap Christmas presents.  Prior to wrapping presents, I spent some time tidying around the house by loading the dishwasher and picking up the dining room and living room.

Wrapping presents has been the last thing on my list of priorities over the past few weeks, and I found some time to do just that this evening.

This season of Christmas, it is easy to busy ourselves with buying and wrapping presents, cooking, baking, cleaning, and the like, and it’s easy to lose track of some of the most important things on our “To Do” lists.

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was once asked how she was able to accomplish so much.  She replied that she spends a couple hours in front of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in prayer every day.  Once she gives her time of prayer to God, He gives her the time and ability to accomplish the rest.

Will you join me in spending some extra time in prayer like Mother Teresa?  We may not have hours to give, but we have twenty minutes to an hour here and there.  Let’s give our time to God and let Him take care of the rest of our “to do” list.  We may just find that some of the things “to do” are not so pressing or urgent after all.
