Your Grace Is Enough

15 Mar

The light was red.  I waited patiently.  I pulled the folded up piece of paper from my purse.  The title of the paper read “Examination of Conscience for Adults.”

I needed some direction and forgiveness, and the weight hung on on my conscience.

Suddenly the light turned green and the door opened.  I entered and the gentle voice behind the screen said “Good morning!  Let’s begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

“Bless me Father, for I have sinned…”  I confessed my sins.  The priest spoke with kindness and love.

Shortly thereafter, as I looked at the crucifix I heard the words from the priest, speaking in persona christi, “I absolve you of your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Grace poured upon my soul and I gave thanks.

Lord, thank You for your loving forgiveness.  Your grace is enough.
