Humor For The Day

28 Nov

This weekend while my brother and his wife and their children were in town, I was reading a book to my 5-year-old nephew.  The book was an encyclopedia of animals.  The book had pictures of animals and captions next to the picture, and for more reading, there was more text.

The bird I was reading about was called an “Avocet.”  I said, “The avocet gathers in flocks of about 300.”

All of a sudden my nephew exclaimed in a shocked voice “They lay 300 eggs?!!!”

I assured my nephew that this bird does not lay 300 eggs, but rather gathers in flocks of 300 😉

. . . . . Wow, that would be some feat if that bird could lay 300 eggs!
